In February 2007 my son had his first Pinewood Derby. The derby bug bit both of us very hard and we worked and worked to build a champion car. After several attempts, we finally came up with a car that we were satisfied with. I do say we because my son actually did a large part of the work on the car. With great anticipation we watched as our car won the pack race and qualified for the district races. Even though the car won, we knew that it could be much faster and we could do much better. It was at this time that we discovered there were several professional Pinewood Derby Racing leagues that you could send your car to and let it race against the best racers around. We had time until the district race so we sent it to the league races where the best racers in the world compete. WOW, the cars were fast there and that is how it began. We created the LA Sound Racing Team and have raced every month against the best and have climbed to being the track record holders in every division. DerbyDad4Hire was formed once we reached the pinnacle of the professional pinewood derby racing world and racers wanted us to build products for their own use.  We constantly strive to learn how to gain more speed and create even higher quality products.
